To tackle the festive season passenger rush, Indian Railways has announced 150 Puja special trains across the country from September 21 to November 30, 2025.

The Railway Board has unveiled plans to operate 150 Puja special trains, completing a total of 2,024 trips during the upcoming festive season. The services will run from September 21 to November 30, 2025, ensuring smoother travel for lakhs of passengers.

South Central Railway to Lead Festive Operations

According to officials, the South Central Railway (SCR) will lead operations with 48 trains, covering 684 trips, primarily from major hubs such as Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Vijayawada.

The East Central Railway will introduce 14 trains passing through key Bihar stations like Patna, Gaya, Darbhanga, and Muzaffarpur, accounting for 588 trips. Meanwhile, the Eastern Railway zone will operate 24 special trains from busy points including Kolkata, Sealdah, and Howrah, totalling 198 trips.

The Western Railway has also announced 24 special trains, connecting Mumbai, Surat, and Vadodara with 204 trips, while the Southern Railway will deploy 10 trains from Chennai, Coimbatore, and Madurai, completing 66 trips.

Additionally, special services will cover

  • East Coast Railway: Bhubaneswar, Puri, Sambalpur
  • South Eastern Railway: Ranchi, Tatanagar
  • North Central Railway: Prayagraj, Kanpur
  • South East Central Railway: Bilaspur, Raipur
  • West Central Railway: Bhopal, Kota

Railway officials noted that this is the first batch of special trains for the festive season, with more announcements expected soon to cater to rising demand.
