Passenger Vehicle Dispatches Surge 34.3% YoY to 4,57,810 Units in July 2026: SIAM

India's automobile industry recorded its strongest-ever July sales as dispatches across major vehicle categories registered robust year-on-year growth, according to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), as per news reports.
Passenger vehicle dispatches from manufacturers to dealers increased 34.3% year-on-year to 4,57,810 units in July 2026, compared with 3,40,772 units in July 2025.
Passenger Vehicles Lead July 2026 Growth
The passenger vehicle segment recorded its highest-ever July sales, with dispatches increasing by more than one-third from the year-ago period.
The performance formed part of a broader double-digit expansion across the industry's key vehicle categories during the month.
Two-Wheeler Sales Cross 19 Lakh Units
Two-wheeler sales rose 22.6% to 19,23,483 units in July 2026, compared with 15,69,120 units during the corresponding month last year.
The segment accounted for the largest volume among the three categories reported by SIAM, with sales increasing by more than 3.5 lakh units year-on-year.
Three-Wheeler Dispatches Rise 33.4%
Three-wheeler dispatches to dealers climbed 33.4% to 92,560 units in July 2026, against 69,403 units in July 2025.
The segment therefore recorded another year of double-digit growth alongside passenger vehicles and two-wheelers.
SIAM Highlights Sustained Momentum
Rajesh Menon, Director General of SIAM, said, “India’s auto industry delivered its strongest-ever July sales, with robust double-digit growth across passenger vehicles, three-wheelers and two-wheelers.”
Menon added that the positive momentum had continued for several months as the industry entered the festive season, alongside expectations of strong consumer sentiment.
