
The Kerala government has constituted the 12th Pay Revision Commission to examine salary restructuring for state government employees. The move follows a commitment made in the recent state budget to initiate a fresh pay review exercise.
State Finance Minister K N Balagopal announced that former Chief Secretary V P Joy will head the commission. The panel also includes advocate M Rajagopalan Nair and retired Additional Secretary Sreelatha Sukumaran as members.
V R Sobha, Additional Secretary in the Finance Department, will serve as the commission’s secretary. The panel has been tasked with reviewing pay structures and submitting its recommendations within 3 months.
The Finance Minister stated that the government intends to complete the process within the prescribed timeframe. A separate government order detailing the terms of reference for the commission is expected to be issued shortly.
