IndiGo has announced a special discount for travellers flying to Thailand. Passengers can use the code “6ETHAI” to get up to 10% off on bookings. This offer is valid on flights to popular Thai cities like Bangkok, Phuket, and Chiang Mai, which are operating normally.

Ceasefire Between Thailand and Cambodia

This travel offer comes just days after Thailand and Cambodia agreed to a ceasefire following deadly border clashes. The truce, which began at midnight on July 28, 2025, ended five days of violence. Over 30 people lost their lives, and nearly 300,000 were displaced due to the conflict. The fighting disrupted daily life and trade, especially in the border provinces.

International Pressure Leads to Peace Talks

The ceasefire was largely prompted by international pressure, including a trade threat from the United States. Former U.S. President Donald Trump warned both countries of reciprocal tariffs unless they agreed to peace. He later confirmed that trade talks would resume following the ceasefire.

Travel Advisory for Indians Going to Thailand

The Indian Embassy in Thailand has issued a travel advisory for Indian nationals. Travellers are advised to avoid non-essential movement near the border areas of Chanthaburi and Sa Kaeo provinces. Emergency contact numbers have been provided for Indians already in Thailand.

Is It Safe to Travel to Thailand Now?

Despite the conflict near the Cambodia border, most of Thailand is safe for travel. Popular tourist destinations and major cities continue to welcome tourists. IndiGo’s offer makes it a good time for budget-conscious travellers to plan their trip.

Conclusion

While the situation near the Thailand-Cambodia border remains tense, the ceasefire has brought a much-needed pause in violence. Travellers should remain cautious and stay updated with official advisories. IndiGo’s new discount could be a great opportunity for those looking to visit Thailand—but safety should remain the top priority.
