Indian Railways has introduced a limited period benefit for passengers who book unreserved tickets through the RailOne app.
The move is aimed at promoting digital payments and making routine train travel more convenient for millions of commuters across the country.
The 3% discount is available only on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app using digital payment modes. These include UPI, debit cards, credit cards, and net banking.
This concession will remain available until July 14, 2026. By linking the offer to digital payments, Indian Railways is encouraging more passengers to shift from cash-based ticket purchases to faster and more efficient online transactions.
At first glance, a 3% discount may seem small. However, for regular commuters who travel frequently on local and short distance routes, the savings can add up over time.
Passengers who travel 5 or 6 days a week for work or daily needs may notice a meaningful reduction in their monthly travel cost.
For this large group of unreserved ticket users, even a modest concession can make day to day commuting slightly more affordable.
The RailOne app has been positioned as a single platform for multiple railway services. It allows passengers to book reserved tickets, unreserved tickets, and platform tickets without switching between different apps.
The app also brings together services such as IRCTC Rail Connect, NTES, UTS on Mobile, and Rail Madad.
Apart from ticket booking, users can check live train status, track PNR updates, view platform details, and order food during their journey. This integrated setup is designed to simplify the travel experience.

One of the major benefits of using the RailOne app is convenience. Passengers can avoid long queues at railway stations, especially during busy hours, by booking tickets from anywhere.
This digital process reduces last minute stress and gives commuters a smoother way to secure tickets. The added 3% discount further strengthens the appeal of booking through the app instead of relying on cash counters.
The initiative also supports the wider push towards cashless public services. Digital payments reduce cash handling and make the booking process quicker and more secure.
For passengers in crowded urban centres, this can improve both ease of travel and overall efficiency in daily commuting.
The 3% discount on unreserved tickets booked through the RailOne app reflects Indian Railways’ effort to promote digital transactions while making travel easier for regular passengers. Though limited in duration, the offer could bring noticeable savings for daily commuters and support a broader shift towards a more seamless and digital railway experience.
