
The Indian government is working with domestic AI firms, Sarvam and BharatGen, to develop advanced AI models with capabilities similar to Mythos, as per The Economic Times news report. This collaboration is focused on enhancing cybersecurity measures critical for infrastructure protection.
The Indian government has tasked Sarvam and BharatGen with refining their existing AI models to match Mythos's capabilities. This initiative is intended to safeguard India's critical infrastructure from potential cyberattacks.
As per the report, officials involved in the project emphasised the importance of creating indigenous capabilities hosted on secure government-operated compute infrastructure.
Currently, the Indian government, alongside local corporations, is negotiating access to the Mythos AI model from the US government.
Mythos is regarded as a highly powerful AI tool, and possessing similar technology domestically is seen as crucial for maintaining a robust cybersecurity framework.

In addition to working with Sarvam and BharatGen, the government is also deploying a mix of open-source models, including those developed by Sarvam.
