India Records Highest-Ever FDI of $94.53 Billion in FY26 and PLI Investment Reaches ₹2.40 Lakh Crore

During FY 2025-26, India has received $94.53 billion of FDI which is the highest ever annual inflow till date. Against this backdrop, total FDI inflow from FY 2014-15 to FY 2025-26 has been $843 billion, Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal noted, as per news reports.
The numbers also coincided with 12 years of the Make in India campaign and were shared by Goyal on September 25, 2026. He also highlighted the progress made in production linked incentive schemes in a number of manufacturing sectors.
PLI Schemes Bring in ₹2.40 Lakh Crore
As of March 31, 2026, actual investment under the scheme was ₹2.40 lakh crore. The schemes have also led to production and sales worth ₹23.8 lakh crore and exports of ₹15.2 lakh crore.
The minister said over 14.6 lakh direct and indirect jobs have been created under these schemes.
Electronics, Pharma and Auto Among Key Sectors
Goyal said sectors including electronics and telecom, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, automobiles, IT hardware and speciality steel have benefited significantly from the PLI schemes.
The numbers cover both investment made under the schemes and the production and exports generated from the participating sectors.
Smart Cities to Support Manufacturing
The government is also setting up greenfield industrial smart cities across the country through the National Industrial Corridor Development Programme.
Goyal said these projects are being developed to provide infrastructure for globally competitive manufacturing. He also pointed to Ease of Doing Business reforms, which he said have simplified regulations and reduced the compliance burden.
ONDC Crosses 470 Crore Orders
Goyal further said that more than 470 crore orders have been placed through the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
The minister linked the progress in FDI, PLI, industrial infrastructure, regulatory reforms and digital commerce with the broader development of India's manufacturing and investment ecosystem.
