Department of Posts India is set to launch its new ‘24 Speed Post’ service on March 17, 2026, aimed at offering guaranteed next-day delivery for urgent consignments. The service will be introduced during an event at the Rangbhawan Auditorium in Akashwani Bhawan, New Delhi.
The launch ceremony will be attended by Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Union Minister of Communications, and Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, Minister of State for Communications, along with senior officials from the department.
In its initial phase, the 24 Speed Post service will be available in six major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. The service is designed to support customers who require faster delivery for time-sensitive documents and parcels.
Along with this new offering, the department will also provide 24 and 48 Speed Post options that ensure delivery timelines of D+1 and D+2, respectively. These services aim to enhance reliability and efficiency in India Post’s premium express delivery segment.
The 24 Speed Post service comes with several advanced features to improve the delivery experience. These include OTP-based secure delivery, ensuring that consignments are handed over only after authentication.
Customers will also benefit from end-to-end tracking supported by SMS alerts that provide real-time updates on shipment status. Business customers will have access to additional features such as a Buy Now Pay Later facility, free pickup for bulk bookings, API integration, and centralised billing.
To further ensure reliability, the service includes a money-back guarantee in case the delivery timeline is not met.
