
As per The Economic Times report, India and Vietnam have strengthened their bilateral relations by signing 13 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) across various sectors, including digital technologies, culture, health regulation, education, tourism, and public sector cooperation.
This development marks a significant expansion of institutional and strategic ties between the two nations.
The signing of these 13 MoUs signifies a major step in enhancing the strategic, economic, and cultural ties between India and Vietnam.

Notably, the MoU between the drug regulatory authorities of both countries is expected to improve access to Indian medicines in Vietnam and facilitate smoother exports of India's agricultural, fisheries, and animal products to the Vietnamese market.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced plans to enhance cooperation between the central banks of India and Vietnam to strengthen financial connectivity.
A significant development in this area is the linking of India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) system with Vietnam’s fast payment system, which aims to improve digital payment integration between the two countries.
Highlighting the deep cultural ties between the two nations, Modi noted that over 1.5 crore people, approximately 15% of Vietnam’s population, participated in the darshan of Buddhist relics sent from India last year.
This cultural exchange underscores the historical and spiritual connections shared by India and Vietnam.

India and Vietnam have also agreed to deepen cooperation in critical minerals, rare earths, and energy. This move signals an expanded strategic and resource-focused engagement between the two countries, aiming to bolster their respective economies and resource capabilities.
