Gujarat has strengthened its position as a national leader in renewable energy deployment, recording the highest installed capacity in the country while aligning its growth strategy with India’s long-term clean energy and net-zero objectives.
As of December 31, 2025, Gujarat’s cumulative renewable energy installations reached 42.583 GW, accounting for 16.50% of India’s total renewable capacity, making it the country’s largest contributor.
Installed solar capacity stands at 25,529.40 MW, comprising 17,771.21 MW from ground-mounted projects, 6,412.80 MW from rooftop systems, 1,172.38 MW from hybrid projects and 173.01 MW from off-grid systems, including PM KUSUM.
Rooftop solar capacity includes 2,073.65 MW under Surya Gujarat, 1,913 MW under PM Surya Ghar Yojana and 2,267.04 MW from other installations, taking total rooftop installations to over 11 lakh.
Gujarat hosts major solar parks such as Charanka at 749 MW, Radhanesda at 700 MW and Dholera at 300 MW. The Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Kutch, planned for 37.35 GW, has already achieved 11.33 GW, positioning it as the world’s largest renewable energy park.
Gujarat’s installed wind power capacity reached 14,820.94 MW as of December 2025, with Kutch alone contributing 7,476.73 MW.
Other key districts include Jamnagar at 1,867.65 MW, Devbhumi Dwarka at 1,281.26 MW, Amreli at 973.85 MW, Rajkot at 874.9 MW, Bhavnagar at 618.8 MW, Morbi at 568.6 MW, Surendranagar at 456.6 MW and Patan at 208.20 MW.
The state has commissioned 2,398.77 MW of wind-solar hybrid projects under its hybrid and renewable energy policies. More than 80% of wind turbines are installed on government-allotted land, supported by robust evacuation infrastructure.
Based on installed renewable capacity, Gujarat has generated an estimated 2.37 lakh direct and indirect jobs. The state has also installed 12,700 standalone off-grid solar water pumps under PM KUSUM Component B, generating 89.54 MW, and contributes over 25% of India’s total rooftop solar installations.
