Starlink, the satellite internet service from Elon Musk’s SpaceX, has officially launched its Residential plan in India.
With a monthly subscription set at ₹8,600 and a one-time hardware cost of ₹34,000, the service is aimed at improving high-speed internet access in rural and underserved parts of the country.
The Starlink Residential package in India is listed at ₹8,600 per month and includes unlimited data usage. Customers must purchase a hardware kit for ₹34,000 as a one-time setup cost. The service also provides a 30-day trial period, allowing users to cancel within the first month if unsatisfied.
The system is designed to offer 99.9% uptime and can operate across a variety of weather conditions. Installation is simplified, requiring users only to plug in the equipment for activation.
Starlink is targeting regions that lack reliable broadband internet infrastructure. The technology uses a constellation of low-earth orbit satellites to provide connectivity and is intended as a solution where fibre and cable options are either unavailable or inconsistent.
Given its all-weather design and ease of use, Starlink is positioned to serve homes and communities in geographically challenging or isolated areas.

While the Residential tier pricing has been publicly disclosed, the company has not yet released information on Business plans. These are expected at a later stage, pending operational readiness and regulatory permissions. The expansion will be supported through ground stations planned in multiple Indian cities to enhance service reliability.
In line with its India operations, SpaceX has listed multiple job openings in Bengaluru to manage key functions including payments, tax, accounting, and treasury. This effort supports Starlink’s strategy to establish deeper operational presence within the country.
Starlink’s entry into India with a ₹8,600 monthly plan and ₹34,000 setup cost highlights its focus on delivering dependable satellite internet to underserved areas. With unlimited data and ease of installation, the service targets users in rural and remote locations.
