In a major push towards financial inclusion, CSC e-Governance Services has achieved a credit milestone of ₹3,000 crore, impacting 70,000 underserved borrowers across rural India. This success is the result of the Digital India initiative, in partnership with Piramal Finance, aiming to extend affordable and timely credit to marginalised communities.
Between July 2023 and August 2025, CSC SPV facilitated loan disbursals totalling ₹3,000 crore, directly empowering 70,000 individuals. The financial year-wise growth is notable: ₹86 crore in FY 2023-24, ₹1,631 crore in FY 2024-25, and ₹1,300 crore till August 2025. This initiative connects beneficiaries with much-needed capital, supporting small businesses, promoting entrepreneurship, and reducing reliance on exploitative lenders.
The outreach has been made possible through CSC’s extensive network of over 5.8 lakh Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs) and its strategic partnership with Piramal Finance. By channelling loan facilities to remote locations where mainstream banking often falls short, this programme effectively bridges the rural credit gap. The result is improved livelihoods, more secure families, and increased economic activity at the grassroots level.

Many recipients under this programme are accessing formal credit for the first time—with most seeking small-ticket loans to support personal or micro-enterprise needs. The model ensures affordability and flexibility, with credit terms more favourable than traditional informal lending sources. This has lowered financial burden while boosting confidence among rural borrowers.
These developments underline the programme’s role in fortifying India’s rural financial landscape. By integrating cutting-edge digital solutions from CSC and inclusive funding from Piramal Finance, credit access has been streamlined for India’s underserved markets without compromising on reach or reliability.
The ₹3,000 crore milestone marks a significant achievement in Digital India's ongoing effort to foster inclusive financial growth. With 70,000 borrowers positively impacted, the CSC-Piramal collaboration continues to be a vital catalyst in transforming rural economies and enabling self-reliance.
