The Delhi government has announced a financial assistance scheme for caregivers of persons with disabilities who need high support. Under this scheme, eligible beneficiaries will receive ₹6,000 every month to cover expenses like therapy, assistive devices, counselling, and caregiver support. The money will be directly transferred to Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

  • High support needs must be certified with a score of 60–100 by the district assessment board.
  • Aadhaar verification is mandatory.

Beyond Financial Support

The CM said the scheme is aimed not just at financial relief but also at ensuring dignity, social participation, and emotional well-being for persons with disabilities. It seeks to ease the burden on families who struggle with the costs of long-term care and treatment.

Conclusion

This initiative highlights the government’s commitment to making persons with disabilities more self-reliant and respected members of society. By supporting caregivers financially, the scheme promises both economic relief and greater social inclusion for families facing daily challenges.
