Effective September 1, 2025, oil marketing companies have implemented a reduction of ₹51.50 in the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders. This move extends the ongoing pattern of monthly price cuts seen over recent months to support business consumers.

New Commercial LPG Price Effective September 1

Oil marketing companies have slashed the price of a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder by ₹51.50. This brings the new retail price in Delhi down to ₹1,580 from the earlier ₹1,631.50. The change is part of the regular monthly price revision and brings relief to hotels, restaurants, and other business consumers relying on commercial LPG.

Price Trend Over Previous Months

This marks the third consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG prices. On August 1, 2025, the rate was reduced by ₹33.50, while on July 1, there was a more substantial cut of ₹58.50. Previously, in June, the LPG cylinder price was marked down by ₹24, bringing it to ₹1,723.50. The prices stood at ₹1,762 in April after a nominal ₹7 reduction in February and a slight ₹6 increase in March.

Domestic Cylinder Prices Remain Stable

Despite the price fluctuation in commercial LPG, the 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinder prices have remained unchanged. Approximately 90% of LPG consumption in India is for residential cooking, and stability in domestic pricing ensures household budgets are unaffected during the festive season run-up.

India’s Growing LPG Market Base

India’s LPG user base has seen a surge over the past decade. As of April 2025, total domestic LPG connections reached around 33 crore. This rapid growth reflects the increasing need for clean cooking fuel across both urban and rural areas and highlights the value of keeping domestic prices stable even as commercial rates vary.

Conclusion

The ₹51.50 price cut in commercial LPG cylinders from September 1, 2025, continues the downward trend seen over recent months. While it benefits commercial entities, the unchanged domestic LPG pricing supports household stability in fuel expenses. The market now balances commercial competitiveness and residential affordability.
