Centre Approves RGNAU's 500-Acre Expansion; UP Government to Make Land Available

Rajiv Gandhi National Aviation University (RGNAU), located at Fursatganj, Amethi wants to expand their campus & aerospace activity with an addition of 500 acre lands.
RGNAU Vice-Chancellor B N Singh said that Centre has approved this proposal which has been sent to the UP Government for making land available.
Centre of Excellence Planned
A centre of excellence is planned on the additional land once it is handed over to the university. A survey of the proposed site is already underway.
In addition to Singh’s meeting with Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, who assured him of availability of the land soon, the project’s expansion proposal includes setting up laboratories, research centres, among others to support higher education, research and innovation in aviation, aerospace, and related areas.
University Has Bigger Student Target
RGNAU currently has 595 students. Its development model aims to take student strength to 17,000 by 2033.
The university is also working on plans to grant affiliation to institutions in different parts of the country, according to Singh.
RGNAU Focuses on Aviation and Aerospace
Established in 2013 under the Ministry of Civil Aviation, RGNAU is described as India's only university dedicated to aviation and aerospace education.
The university's planned expansion is focused on building facilities for education, research and innovation across aviation, aerospace and allied fields.

RGNAU’s proposal for expansion with another 500 acres was approved by the Centre.In this context, the university will utilise the additional land area for setting up more laboratories as well as research facilities. It aims at having 17,000 students by 2033, said the statement.
