The Arunachal Pradesh government has launched e-Bhavishya, a digital platform aimed at simplifying pension processes for government employees, as per news reports. The system was formally announced on Monday by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

As part of the new system, employees will receive their Pension Payment Order (PPO) on the day of retirement. This measure seeks to eliminate delays that often affect the release of retirement benefits.

"The reform is about respecting years of dedicated service to the state and ensuring that retirement does not bring uncertainty or hardship," Khandu said in a post on X, as per news reports.

Real-Time Case Updates

The platform will provide pensioners with real-time information on the status of their applications. As per news reports, the new mechanism is expected to enable over 95% disposal of pension cases within 3 years.

e-Bhavishya is included under the government’s ‘PEMA 3 Year of Reforms & Growth’ programme. Authorities said the initiative is meant to reduce manual pendency in pension files and bring greater accountability in processing.

Social Security Coverage

Alongside this reform, the state has reported that 68,000 elderly people, widows, and differently abled citizens are covered under the Chief Minister’s Social Security Scheme. These groups receive financial support from the state, as per news reports.

Under Mission Antyodaya, the government has allocated ₹435 crore for the financial year 2025-26. The funds are for supporting rural infrastructure and development projects across the state.

Support for Communities

The state has announced plans to set up ‘Gurukuls’ for preserving the languages and traditions of indigenous groups such as Apatani, Mishmi, Wancho, Tutsa, Sherdukpen, and Sajolang. The Puroik Welfare Board has also been strengthened to extend community support.

As per news reports, 11,730 women-led Self-Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed in the state. In addition, the Public Distribution System (PDS) has been digitised with ePoS machines at more than 2,000 fair price shops.

Conclusion

The launch of e-Bhavishya is a shift to a digital system for pensions in Arunachal Pradesh, along with other ongoing welfare and community programmes.
