Gold and silver prices traded with a firm bias on Wednesday, touching fresh record highs during the session. MCX gold opened at ₹1,51,575 per 10 grams, higher than the previous close of ₹1,50,565, and later surged to a new all-time high of ₹1,53,831 per 10 grams.
MCX silver, meanwhile, opened lower at ₹3,22,566 per kg compared with ₹3,23,672 in the prior session, but recovered sharply to hit a record high of ₹3,26,487 per kg. In the international market, spot gold crossed the key psychological level of US$4,800 an ounce for the first time, supported by strong safe-haven demand, while spot silver prices also edged up 0.3% to US$94.89 an ounce.

Gold prices in Dubai have seen a slight dip as of January 21, 2025, with 24K gold now priced at AED 585.25 per gram. When converted to Indian Rupees, this brings the cost of 10 grams of 24K gold to approximately ₹1,43,767.
