Crude oil prices declined on Monday, October 26, 2026, after reaching their highest levels in nearly six months late last week. Despite the pullback, continued attacks on Saudi Arabia and concerns over potential supply disruptions kept the market on edge.

US crude futures fell by $1.60, or 1.55%, to $101.67 per barrel by 0018 GMT. Brent crude futures dropped $1.56, or 1.34%, to $115.16 per barrel.

Both benchmarks had gained ground on Friday following attacks by Houthi forces in Saudi Arabia. Brent crude ended the week 6% higher, while West Texas Intermediate (WTI) recorded a weekly gain of 2.3%.

Houthi Attacks Keep Oil Supply Concerns Alive

As per news reports, Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia continued over the weekend, raising concerns about the security of oil infrastructure and the risk of supply disruptions. The group claimed it had targeted the Saudi airport and oil facilities on Saturday.

Saudi authorities reported intercepting additional missiles and drones on Sunday. The developments have kept attention firmly on the security situation in the world's largest oil-exporting country, where any disruption could affect global crude supplies.

Saudi Airport Resumes Partial Operations

Saudi Arabia restarted partial operations at its main airport on Sunday after damage caused during an earlier round of Houthi attacks. The move indicated a limited return to normal operations, although security concerns remained.

The Houthi group also vowed to continue targeting the airport, adding to uncertainty surrounding the situation. Continued attacks on critical infrastructure could pose further challenges for Saudi Arabia and keep supply risks in focus.
