About Vans Electroengineerings Limited IPO

Vans Electroengineerings IPO is a book-built issue worth ₹33.98 crore. The issue comprises an entirely fresh issue of 28.80 lakh shares aggregating to ₹33.98 crore.

Hem Securities Limited is the book-running lead manager for the issue, while Bigshare Services Private Limited is the registrar. Hem Finlease Private Limited has been appointed as the market maker for the IPO.

Industry Outlook

  • Railway Electrification: Indian Railways had electrified 68,701 km, or 98.83% of its broad-gauge network, by March 2025. Continued electrification and network expansion support demand for traction power equipment such as Vacuum Circuit Breakers (VCBs) and Vacuum Interrupters (VIs).
  • Government Spending: The Union Budget 2026–27 provided a capital expenditure outlay of ₹2,93,030 crore for the railway sector. Investments in track expansion, power systems, and safety infrastructure are expected to support demand for specialised electrical equipment.
  • Traction Power Upgrades: Indian Railways is upgrading high-density corridors from 1×25 kV to 2×25 kV Auto-Transformer (AT) traction systems. These projects require specialised switching and protection equipment, including double-pole VCBs and VIs.
  • Freight and High-Speed Rail Infrastructure: The expansion of Dedicated Freight Corridors and upgrades for higher train speeds are supporting demand for reliable traction power and protection systems. By March 2025, 96.4% of the 2,843-km Dedicated Freight Corridor network was operational, while more than 21,800 track km was suitable for speeds of up to 130 km/h.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Railway-grade switchgear is subject to stringent technical specifications and approval requirements. Manufacturers typically need approvals from authorities such as the Research Designs and Standards Organization (RDSO) before supplying equipment for railway applications.
  • High Entry Barriers: New products may require prototype evaluation, field testing, and compliance with applicable technical standards. Procurement is largely conducted through competitive bidding by railway authorities or through Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors, limiting access to approved manufacturers.
  • Shift Towards Vacuum Technology: The industry is increasingly adopting vacuum-based switching technology, which requires less maintenance and avoids the fire-related risks associated with oil-based breakers.
  • Digital Monitoring: Traction circuit breakers are increasingly being integrated with Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and auxiliary control systems to enable remote monitoring and control.
  • Product Diversification: Manufacturers are expanding into related traction power equipment, including Single Bottle Vacuum Circuit Breakers, earthing switches, power quality restorers, and auto-transformer neutral current fault locators.

Vans Electroengineerings IPO Objectives

The company plans to utilise the net proceeds from the IPO for the following purposes:

  • Working Capital: ₹25 crore has been allocated to meet the company’s working capital requirements.
  • General Corporate Purposes: The remaining proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, subject to the SEBI limit of 15% of gross proceeds or ₹10 crore, whichever is lower.
