About Tempsens Instruments (India) IPO

Tempsens Instruments (India) IPO is a book-built issue worth ₹650 crore, comprising a fresh issue of 0.32 crore shares aggregating to ₹95 crore and an offer for sale (OFS) of 1.85 crore shares worth ₹555 crore.  

The IPO will open for subscription on August 20, 2026, and close on August 24, 2026. The allotment is expected to be finalised on August 25, 2026, while the shares are tentatively scheduled to list on NSE and BSE on August 28, 2026. The price band has been fixed at ₹285–₹300 per share, with a lot size of 50 shares. Retail investors need to invest a minimum of ₹15,000 at the upper price band. ICICI Securities Ltd. is the book-running lead manager, while KFin Technologies Ltd. is the registrar to the issue.

  1. India’s temperature sensing industry is witnessing steady growth, with the market for temperature sensors and allied solutions estimated at around ₹18.8 billion in FY2026. 
  2. The global industrial electrical heating solutions market was valued at approximately USD 13.2 billion in CY2025 and is projected to reach USD 18.9 billion by CY2030, growing at a CAGR of around 7.4%. 
  3. The specialised cables market is also expanding, with a projected CAGR of approximately 8.3% between CY2025 and CY2030, reaching nearly USD 49.8 billion by CY2030. 
  4. Tempsens Instruments operates across all three growing segments—temperature sensing, electrical heating solutions and specialised cables. 
  5. As of March 31, 2026, the company was the largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India by revenue, strengthening its position in the temperature sensing industry. 

Tempsens Instruments (India) IPO Objectives  

The company plans to utilise the net proceeds from the IPO for the following purposes: 

  1. ₹18.13 crore will be used to fund capital expenditure for electrical heating solutions and specialised cable solutions. 
  2. ₹55 crore will be utilised for the pre-payment or scheduled repayment of outstanding borrowings, either fully or partially. 
  3. A portion of the net proceeds will be allocated towards general corporate purposes. 
  4. The total estimated utilisation of the net proceeds for these purposes is ₹73.13 crore.

Tempsens Instruments (India) Limited, incorporated in 1990, is a thermal engineering and specialised cable manufacturer engaged in designing and manufacturing customised temperature sensing solutions, electrical heating solutions and specialised cables. The company is the largest manufacturer of contact and non-contact temperature sensors in India by revenue, with an estimated market share of around 10.5% in the temperature sensor segment for the year ended March 31, 2026.  

Between April 1, 2023 and March 31, 2026, it served more than 1,000 unique customers and exported its products to over 80 countries, including the UAE, Germany and Poland, across regions such as Asia Pacific, Africa, the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, and North and South America. Its product portfolio includes temperature sensing solutions such as thermocouples, resistance temperature detectors, infrared pyrometers, online thermal imagers and furnace monitoring cameras; electrical heating solutions including immersion, process, skid, cartridge, band, tubular and flexible heaters; and specialised cables such as low-voltage control and power cables, instrumentation cables, thermocouple and RTD cables, and nickel alloy conductors.

  1. Ten of the company’s 15 manufacturing facilities are located in Udaipur, Rajasthan, making it vulnerable to local disruptions that could affect a significant portion of its production capacity. 
  2. Key raw materials such as nickel, chromium and stainless steel are subject to price fluctuations and potential supply shortages, which could increase production costs. 
  3. The company depends on multiple suppliers, some of whom are not covered by definitive long-term supply agreements, creating a risk of production disruptions if supplies are interrupted. 
  4. The amalgamation of Marathon Heater resulted in goodwill worth ₹106.13 crore on the balance sheet. Any future impairment of this goodwill could adversely affect the company’s reported profits. 
  5. The company’s revenue is concentrated in end-user industries such as metals and petrochemicals, making demand vulnerable to downturns in these sectors.
