Risks and Threats of Symbiotec Pharmalab IPO

  1. The company is heavily dependent on API sales, which accounted for 96.07% of revenue from operations in FY2026. Its top five APIs contributed 62.27% of revenue, making the business vulnerable to changes in demand or production disruptions.
  2. The company operates in a highly regulated industry, and its manufacturing facilities are subject to inspections and audits by regulatory authorities and customers. Any quality or compliance failure could lead to regulatory action, loss of approvals, reputational damage or business disruption.
  3. With 67.04% of FY2026 revenue coming from overseas customers, the company is exposed to risks related to international markets, including regulatory changes, economic conditions, geopolitical developments, currency movements and trade restrictions.
  4. Changes in US tariffs and anti-outsourcing policies could increase the cost of exports and reduce the competitiveness of the company's products in the US and other markets.
  5. The company depends significantly on a limited number of customers, with its top 10 customers contributing 57.59% of product sales in FY2026. Loss of key customers or a reduction or delay in orders could adversely affect revenue and profitability.
  6. All of the company's manufacturing facilities and dedicated R&D centres are located in Madhya Pradesh, creating geographical concentration risk. Natural disasters, power or water disruptions, machinery breakdowns, industrial accidents or other regional events could interrupt operations.
  7. The company relies on certain suppliers for raw materials, with its top 10 suppliers accounting for 25.50% of total expenses in FY2026. Supply disruptions, supplier failures or higher raw material costs could affect production and margins.
  8. The company operates in a competitive API and CDMO market, where competitors may have greater financial, technological, manufacturing, R&D and marketing resources. Failure to introduce products, adopt new technologies or compete effectively on pricing could affect growth.
  9. The company sources some raw materials from China, the US and other countries, exposing it to supply-chain disruptions arising from geopolitical developments, regulatory changes, trade restrictions or changes in import laws.
  10. The company's growth depends on its ability to successfully develop and commercialise new products. Delays in R&D, unsuccessful product development, failure to obtain regulatory approvals or higher development costs could affect future growth and profitability.
