  6. The ongoing rollout of 5G infrastructure and cell-tower fiberization significantly drives domestic demand for optical fiber and high-speed data transmission cables.
  7. The surge in cloud services, enterprise networking, and domestic data centre construction fuels steady demand for structured LAN and high-bandwidth fibre solutions.
  8. Domestic preference policies, production-linked incentives (PLI), and anti-dumping measures on imported cables support market share gains for domestic manufacturers.

Risks and Threats of Orient Cables (India) IPO

  1. A significant portion of revenue is concentrated among a few clients, with the top 10 customers accounting for 84.00% of revenue from operations in the three months ended June 30, 2026, and 76.52% in Fiscal 2026.
  2. The company depends heavily on raw materials like copper and PVC compounds, which are tied to volatile commodity and crude oil prices. Additionally, the top 10 suppliers accounted for 74.91% and 69.71% of total raw materials sourced in the three months ended June 30, 2026, and Fiscal 2026, respectively, without long-term supply contracts.
  3. The company is involved in active cross-litigation with Orient Electric Limited regarding the use of the "ORIENT" trademark and corporate name, while applications for its logos remain pending and subject to third-party opposition.
  4. Two of the company's primary manufacturing units are in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, exposing operations to regional disruptions, infrastructure constraints, and stricter local environmental regulations.
  5. Manufacturing operations rely heavily on third-party contract workers (1,327 contract labourers hired as of June 30, 2026), exposing the business to risks of supply disruption, labour disputes, or rising wage rates.
  6. Fluctuations in global copper prices on the London Metal Exchange (LME) and elevated petrochemical costs directly impact production expenses and operating margins if cost escalations cannot be passed on quickly
  7. The European Union's imposition of anti-dumping duties of up to 11.4% on Indian optical fiber cables, alongside US reciprocal tariffs of up to 26% on select telecom products, threatens price competitiveness in export markets.
  8. With imports of raw materials and exports across North America, Europe, and the Middle East, the company faces exposure to currency exchange volatility, global inflation, and shipping lane disruptions.
