About Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers Limited

Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers Limited was incorporated as Matlani Finance Private Limited on March 21, 1996, and has evolved into an organised jewellery retail company focused on the design and sale of jewellery made from precious metals and adorned with precious and semi-precious stones. The company changed its name to Labhshubh Finance (India) Private Limited in July 2002 and subsequently to Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers Private Limited in November 2018. It was converted into a public limited company and renamed Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers Limited in February 2025.

The company operates under its flagship brand, “Kataria Jewellers,” offering a diverse portfolio of gold, silver, and platinum jewellery, diamond jewellery, including polki (uncut) diamonds, and jewellery featuring semi-precious stones. Its product range includes rings, earrings, necklaces, bangles, bridal jewellery sets, antique silver jewellery, other ornaments, gold and silver bullion, and silver articles. The company caters to customers across multiple price points, offering traditional and contemporary designs for weddings, festive occasions, gifting, daily wear, and investment purposes. As of June 30, 2026, its product portfolio comprised 220 stock-keeping units across jewellery categories, excluding customised and made-to-order jewellery.

Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers operates three company-managed retail stores, all located in Madhya Pradesh, India. Its first store, Ratlam Store-I, commenced operations in Fiscal 2023, followed by Ratlam Store-II in Fiscal 2024 and the Indore Store in Fiscal 2026. These stores have a combined retail showroom area of approximately 17,970 square feet. In addition to retail sales through its own stores, the company supplies jewellery to other jewellery retailers, extending its distribution reach beyond its physical retail network. Revenue from operations increased from ₹152.93 crore in Fiscal 2024 to ₹320.46 crore in Fiscal 2025 and ₹477.87 crore in Fiscal 2026, representing a compound annual growth rate of 76.77% between Fiscal 2024 and Fiscal 2026.

The company is pursuing further expansion of its retail presence through two proposed stores: a fourth store in Kota, Rajasthan, with a planned retail showroom area of approximately 3,600 square feet, expected to become operational by Fiscal 2027, and a fifth store in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with a planned retail showroom area of approximately 4,800 square feet, expected to become operational in Fiscal 2028. The company proposes to finance the capital expenditure for establishing these stores through the net proceeds of its Initial Public Offering. The proposed use of the remaining issue proceeds also includes repayment or prepayment, in full or in part, of certain outstanding borrowings and general corporate purposes.

Industry Outlook

  • The Indian gems and jewellery industry is a significant contributor to the country's economy, accounting for approximately 7% of India's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and around 15% of total merchandise exports. India is also a leading global hub for diamond cutting and polishing, accounting for over 90% of global polished diamond production.
  • The Indian retail gems and jewellery market was valued at approximately ₹7,204 billion in Calendar Year 2025. The market recorded a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10.6% between Calendar Years 2020 and 2025 and is projected to grow at a CAGR of 12.2% between Calendar Years 2025 and 2030, supported by rising disposable incomes, urbanisation, and changing consumer preferences.
  • Gold jewellery dominates the Indian jewellery market because of its cultural, religious, and traditional significance. Weddings, festivals, and ceremonial occasions remain important drivers of jewellery demand, while gold also serves as an investment avenue for Indian households.
  • The Indian retail jewellery market is undergoing a gradual shift from unorganised, family-run jewellers towards organised and branded retailers. Growing consumer preference for certified products, transparent pricing, greater design variety, and mandatory gold hallmarking is supporting the expansion of organised jewellery businesses across metropolitan areas and Tier II and Tier III cities.
  • Digitalisation is transforming the jewellery retail landscape through digital marketing, online product catalogues, omnichannel retail models, and virtual try-on technologies. Younger and urban consumers are increasingly showing interest in lightweight, contemporary, and daily-wear jewellery, encouraging retailers to adopt technology-driven customer engagement and personalised shopping experiences.
  • Domestic jewellery demand is supported by rising disposable incomes, urbanisation, and evolving lifestyle preferences. Demand typically increases during major festive and wedding seasons, including Akshaya Tritiya, Dhanteras, Diwali, and the summer and winter wedding seasons. These seasonal occasions contribute significantly to jewellery purchases across different consumer segments.
  • India's gems and jewellery industry benefits from its skilled workforce, established manufacturing ecosystem, and export-oriented infrastructure. Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu are important manufacturing centres, while the United States, the United Arab Emirates, and Hong Kong remain key export markets. Government initiatives, trade agreements, and policy support are expected to strengthen India's competitiveness in international jewellery markets.
  • Despite its growth prospects, the industry faces challenges, including gold price volatility, dependence on imports, competition from synthetic diamonds, and regulatory compliance requirements. The unorganised segment continues to retain a significant market presence due to established customer relationships, pricing flexibility, and strong rural distribution networks. However, increasing formalisation, technological improvements, and product diversification are expected to influence the industry's future growth.

Strengths and Opportunities of Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers IPO

  1. The company operates under the flagship brand “Kataria Jewellers” and benefits from the Kataria family’s legacy in the jewellery trade in Madhya Pradesh. Its promoters and management team have substantial experience in jewellery retail, sourcing, merchandising, and customer engagement.
  2. The company offers gold, diamond, polki, platinum, and silver jewellery catering to weddings, festivals, gifting, and daily wear. As of June 30, 2026, its portfolio comprised 220 stock-keeping units (SKUs), alongside customised, made-to-order jewellery services.
  3. The company operates three stores across Ratlam and Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with a total retail showroom area of 17,970 square feet. Its regional familiarity, established customer relationships, and understanding of Tier-2 and Tier-3 consumer preferences support its market positioning.
  4. The company’s stores are equipped with karatmeters, gold-testing machines, microscopes, and diamond testers for in-store quality verification. It also provides product-level documentation covering certification, metal purity, stone specifications, and care instructions, supporting transparency and customer confidence.
  5. The company uses social media campaigns, online product catalogues, WhatsApp enquiries, and a customised customer relationship management system to support customer acquisition and engagement. Further investment in digital marketing, data-led personalisation, and planned loyalty infrastructure presents an opportunity to improve customer retention and repeat purchases.
  6. The company plans to establish two additional stores—one in Kota, Rajasthan, with a proposed showroom area of 3,600 square feet, and another in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, with 4,800 square feet. The proposed expansion could increase its geographical reach and retail capacity.
  7. The company’s strategy includes establishing an in-house jewellery manufacturing facility. If implemented successfully, backward integration could improve control over product quality, design turnaround time, and production processes, while potentially reducing reliance on external job workers.

Risks and Threats of Kataria Dhulchand Pannalal Jewellers IPO

  1. The company’s business is concentrated in Madhya Pradesh, making it vulnerable to regional economic conditions, changes in local consumer demand, and competition from established jewellery retailers. Its limited geographical presence may constrain growth if it is unable to expand successfully into new markets.
  2. The company is exposed to fluctuations in gold prices and changes in import duties, taxes, and other regulations affecting gold. Higher gold prices may reduce purchase volumes among price-sensitive customers in Tier-2 and Tier-3 markets, adversely affecting revenue and profitability.
  3. The company has a limited operating history in organised jewellery retail, having commenced these operations in Fiscal 2023. Its historical revenue growth has also benefited from rising gold prices, and past growth rates may not be sustainable or indicative of future performance.
  4. The company’s revenue is subject to seasonal fluctuations, with significant sales generated during festive and wedding periods. Any decline in customer demand during these peak periods could disproportionately affect its revenue, profitability, and overall financial performance.
  5. The company depends on vendors for the procurement of gold and other raw materials, including diamonds and precious and semi-precious stones. Any disruption in supply, deterioration in quality, or increase in procurement costs could adversely affect product availability, operations, and profit margins.
  6. The company plans to expand its retail network into Kota, Rajasthan, and Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, and pursue backward integration through in-house manufacturing. However, it has limited experience in opening and scaling new stores, operating outside Madhya Pradesh, and running a manufacturing facility, creating execution and operational risks.
  7. The company operates in a competitive jewellery market that includes organised retailers and unorganised local jewellers. Competition on pricing, product designs, quality, customer service, and brand recognition could affect its ability to attract and retain customers, maintain margins, and grow its market share.
