About Karamtara Engineering Limited

Karamtara Engineering Limited was originally incorporated as Karamtara Engineering Private Limited on May 8, 1996, under the Companies Act, 1956. The company was subsequently converted into a public limited company, and its name was changed to Karamtara Engineering Limited on December 16, 2024.

Karamtara Engineering is a backwards-integrated manufacturer catering to the renewable energy and transmission infrastructure sectors. The company manufactures a wide range of products including solar module mounting structures (Solar MMS), solar tracker piles and piers, solar torque tubes, lattice transmission towers, wind tower components, fasteners, and OHTL hardware fittings and accessories.

The company has established a significant manufacturing base with 13 manufacturing facilities, including facilities located across Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Italy. Its integrated manufacturing model is supported by substantial in-house galvanising capabilities, enabling greater quality control, operational efficiency, and cost competitiveness.

Karamtara has developed a strong international presence, serving customers across more than 50 countries spanning North America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and Latin America. Export sales form an important part of its business, with international markets contributing a significant share of overall revenue.

The company derives the majority of its revenue from renewable energy products, particularly solar sector solutions. Its growth strategy focuses on expanding manufacturing capacity, increasing product offerings within renewable energy and transmission infrastructure, strengthening global exports, and expanding into new markets such as Saudi Arabia through additional manufacturing facilities.

Industry Outlook

  • India's renewable energy sector continues to witness robust growth, supported by government initiatives aimed at increasing renewable power generation and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
  • Renewable and non-fossil fuel sources accounted for more than 53% of India's installed power generation capacity as of March 31, 2026, highlighting the country's transition towards cleaner energy.
  • India's installed solar power capacity reached approximately 157 GW as of April 1, 2026, while only around 21% of the country's total solar generation potential has been utilised, indicating substantial future growth opportunities.
  • Growing investments in solar parks, utility-scale projects, transmission infrastructure, and renewable energy installations are expected to drive demand for solar mounting structures, tracker systems, and transmission towers.
  • The increasing focus on grid modernisation and power evacuation infrastructure is supporting demand for transmission line towers, OHTL hardware fittings, and related engineering products.
  • Global diversification of supply chains and the "China Plus One" strategy have created opportunities for Indian manufacturers to enhance exports of renewable energy components and infrastructure products.
  • Industry participants with integrated manufacturing capabilities, strong export networks, and diversified renewable energy product portfolios are expected to benefit from rising domestic and international demand over the coming years.
