About Deon Energy Limited

Deon Energy Limited was originally incorporated as Deon Energy Private Limited on January 3, 2014, under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013. The company was subsequently converted into a public limited company and renamed Deon Energy Limited in preparation for its proposed initial public offering. The company is headquartered in Gujarat and operates primarily in the renewable energy sector with a focus on solar energy solutions.

The company is engaged in providing end-to-end engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) services for solar power projects. Its operations cover project design, engineering, procurement of equipment, installation, commissioning, testing, and long-term operations and maintenance services for solar power plants. The company caters to commercial, industrial, government, and institutional customers across multiple states in India.

Over the years, Deon Energy has developed expertise in executing ground-mounted, rooftop, and other solar photovoltaic projects. Ground-mounted solar projects constitute a significant portion of its business portfolio, reflecting the company’s strong execution capabilities in utility-scale renewable energy projects. The company has completed numerous solar installations and continues to maintain a sizeable order book that supports future revenue visibility.

In addition to its EPC business, the company intends to expand into the Independent Power Producer (IPP) segment through the development of its own solar power assets. This strategic move is expected to create a recurring revenue stream through long-term power purchase agreements while complementing its existing EPC operations.

Deon Energy’s growth strategy focuses on expanding its project execution capabilities, strengthening its order book, developing renewable energy assets under the IPP model, and capitalising on the increasing demand for clean energy solutions in India. The company also seeks to leverage its operational experience, customer relationships, and industry expertise to strengthen its position in the rapidly growing solar energy market.

Industry Outlook

  • India remains one of the fastest-growing renewable energy markets globally, supported by government initiatives aimed at increasing clean energy capacity and reducing dependence on conventional fuel sources.
  • Solar power continues to be a key contributor to India's renewable energy expansion, driven by favourable policies, declining equipment costs, and increasing adoption by industrial, commercial, and utility-scale consumers.
  • The Government of India has established ambitious renewable energy capacity targets, creating significant opportunities for solar EPC companies involved in project development, construction, and maintenance.
  • Rising electricity demand, sustainability commitments by businesses, and increasing focus on decarbonisation are expected to support long-term growth in the solar energy sector.
  • The commercial and industrial solar segment is witnessing strong demand as enterprises seek to reduce power costs and improve energy security through renewable energy solutions.
  • Independent Power Producer (IPP) projects are gaining prominence within the sector as developers seek stable and recurring cash flows through long-term power purchase agreements.
  • The industry remains competitive, with success dependent on project execution capabilities, access to financing, technological expertise, procurement efficiency, and the ability to secure and execute a robust order pipeline.

Deon Energy IPO Objectives

The company proposes to utilise the net proceeds from the IPO for the following objectives:

  • Invest approximately ₹95.80 crore towards the development of a 30 MWDC solar power project under the Independent Power Producer (IPP) model.
  • Fund capital expenditure and infrastructure requirements associated with the development and commissioning of the proposed solar power plant.
  • Strengthen the company’s presence in renewable energy generation through ownership of solar power assets.
  • Allocate approximately ₹75 crore towards working capital requirements to support the growth of its EPC business operations.
  • Enhance operational capabilities and execution capacity for existing and future solar projects.
  • Support business expansion initiatives and maintain financial flexibility for growth opportunities.
  • Utilise the remaining funds for general corporate purposes and other strategic requirements of the company.
