About Claroid Pharmaceuticals Limited

Claroid Pharmaceuticals Limited was incorporated on August 31, 2018, and was subsequently converted into a public limited company on November 22, 2024. The company operates from its registered office and manufacturing facility located at Pirana, Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

The company is engaged in the development, manufacturing, and marketing of generic pharmaceutical formulations. Its product portfolio comprises 129 formulations, including 66 tablets, 27 hard gelatin capsules, and 36 ointments, catering to therapeutic segments such as anti-infective, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, dermatology, pain management, cardiovascular, antidiabetic, and gastrointestinal treatments.

Claroid operates an integrated manufacturing facility spread across approximately 12,332 square metres in Ahmedabad. The facility is equipped with in-house formulation development, quality assurance, quality control, and microbiology laboratories, enabling the company to maintain product quality and support new product development. The manufacturing operations are supported by various regulatory approvals, including WHO-GMP and certifications from regulatory agencies in Nigeria, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Zanzibar.

The company follows an export-oriented business model focused on semi-regulated international markets, particularly across Africa. As of August 31, 2026, Claroid had established relationships with more than 30 distributors across countries including Nigeria, Tanzania, Kenya, Rwanda, Myanmar, and Zanzibar. Nigeria remains its largest market, contributing 76.21% of operating revenue in FY26.

Going forward, Claroid aims to strengthen its presence in existing export markets while expanding into new geographies through additional product registrations and regulatory approvals. The company also plans to diversify its product portfolio through a proposed manufacturing facility for injectables and eye drops, which is expected to enhance its product offerings and broaden its international market reach.

Industry Outlook

  • India is one of the world's largest suppliers of generic medicines and accounts for nearly 20% of global generic medicine supply by volume, with pharmaceutical products being exported to more than 200 countries.
  • India supplies over 50% of Africa's generic medicine requirements, highlighting the country's strategic importance in addressing healthcare needs across emerging markets.
  • Demand for affordable generic medicines continues to grow across semi-regulated markets in Africa, driven by population growth, increasing healthcare access, and rising incidences of chronic diseases.
  • Regulatory compliance, product quality standards, and timely product registrations have become increasingly important competitive differentiators in global pharmaceutical markets.
  • Export-oriented pharmaceutical manufacturers are benefiting from government initiatives such as Duty Drawback, RoDTEP, and Advance Authorisation schemes that support international competitiveness.
  • The injectable and ophthalmic pharmaceutical segments are witnessing growing demand globally, creating opportunities for manufacturers seeking to diversify beyond conventional oral dosage forms.
  • The pharmaceutical industry continues to face challenges from supply-chain disruptions, raw material dependence, freight cost fluctuations, evolving quality standards, and increasing regulatory scrutiny in export markets.

Claroid Pharmaceuticals IPO Objectives

The company proposes to utilise the net proceeds from the IPO for the following objectives:

  • Funding capital expenditure towards the establishment of a proposed manufacturing facility for injectables and eye drops.
  • Expanding the company's product portfolio beyond tablets, capsules, and ointments into higher-value pharmaceutical dosage forms.
  • Enhancing manufacturing capabilities through the installation of specialised machinery, equipment, utilities, and quality-control infrastructure.
  • Supporting the company's long-term export growth strategy by increasing manufacturing capacity and entering new therapeutic segments.
  • Funding civil construction and infrastructure development related to the proposed manufacturing facility.
  • Meeting expenditure related to electrical, mechanical, and project-related installations required for the proposed plant.
  • General corporate purposes, subject to the limit specified in the DRHP.
