About Bonfiglioli Transmissions Limited

Bonfiglioli Transmissions Limited was originally incorporated as Bonfiglioli Deepak Private Limited on June 23, 1998, under the Companies Act, 1956. The company subsequently changed its name to Bonfiglioli Transmissions Private Limited in September 1998 and was later converted into a public limited company as Bonfiglioli Transmissions Limited on September 16, 2025.

The company is one of India’s largest technology-led manufacturers of mechanical and electro-mechanical power transmission systems and industrial drive solutions. It designs and manufactures a broad portfolio of precision-engineered gearboxes, gear motors, drive systems, electric motors, servo drives, robotic drives, and wind turbine drive solutions that are used across a wide range of industrial applications.

Bonfiglioli serves three key business verticals: Industry & Automation Solutions, Off-Highway Mobility, and Wind Industry Solutions. Its products support sectors such as material handling, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, mining, food processing, metal processing, machine tools, construction equipment, agriculture, road construction, and renewable energy. The company has developed long-standing relationships with several leading original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) across these segments.

The company benefits from its association with the global Bonfiglioli Group, headquartered in Italy, which has a presence across multiple countries through manufacturing facilities, research and development centres, distributors, and resellers. Leveraging global technology, engineering expertise, and local manufacturing capabilities, Bonfiglioli has established a strong position in India's industrial transmission and drive systems market.

Bonfiglioli’s growth strategy focuses on expanding its manufacturing capabilities, enhancing localisation, strengthening research and development, increasing penetration across high-growth industrial sectors, and capitalising on opportunities arising from automation, infrastructure development, renewable energy expansion, and the growing adoption of advanced motion and power transmission technologies across industries.

Industry Outlook

  • India’s industrial power transmission and drive solutions market is expected to benefit from increasing investments in manufacturing, infrastructure development, industrial automation, and renewable energy projects.
  • Government initiatives such as Make in India, the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes, and the National Manufacturing Mission are supporting domestic manufacturing growth and encouraging industrial capacity expansion.
  • Rising automation across industries is driving demand for advanced gearboxes, precision drives, servo systems, and motion control solutions that improve operational efficiency and productivity.
  • The construction, mining, agriculture, and material handling sectors continue to generate significant demand for off-highway mobility solutions as infrastructure and capital expenditure activities accelerate.
  • India’s wind energy sector is witnessing sustained growth, supported by renewable energy targets, increasing installation activity, and the expansion of domestic wind turbine manufacturing capacity.
  • Localisation of manufacturing and supply chains is becoming increasingly important as companies seek to improve cost competitiveness, reduce import dependence, and shorten delivery timelines.
  • Industry participants with strong technology capabilities, diversified product portfolios, established OEM relationships, and extensive service networks are expected to benefit from the sector’s long-term growth opportunities.
