Strengths and Opportunities of Ardee Industries IPO

  1. Ardee Industries is among India's prominent companies in the circular economy, specialising in the recycling of end-of-life batteries and non-ferrous scrap to produce high-purity lead and lead alloys.

  1. The company has significantly increased its installed production capacity from 54,750 MTPA in FY24 to 104,025 MTPA in FY26, with the capacity further reaching 156,950 MTPA as of the RHP date.

  1. It manufactures pure lead and specialised lead alloys such as lead calcium, lead antimony, lead tin, lead silver and lead cadmium, catering to industries including automotive, energy storage, chemicals and electric mobility.

  1. Its plant in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, benefits from proximity to major ports, highways and battery manufacturers, enabling efficient sourcing of raw materials and timely product deliveries.

  1. As of March 31, 2026, the company had served more than 50 domestic and international customers, including leading battery manufacturers, while exporting to eight countries.

  1. The company has established sourcing capabilities supported by regulatory compliance, helping ensure uninterrupted imports of lead scrap and consistent production.

  1. Ardee Industries follows a structured hedging strategy using London Metal Exchange (LME) futures and back-to-back pricing mechanisms to reduce the impact of lead price fluctuations on profitability.

  1. The company follows an integrated recycling model, covering procurement, recycling and production, while maintaining ISO-certified quality, environmental and occupational safety standards.

Risks and Threats of Ardee Industries IPO

  1. A significant portion of the company's revenue comes from a small number of customers. The largest customer alone contributed 40.64% of revenue in FY26, making the business vulnerable to the loss of key clients.

  1. More than 84% of revenue is generated from the battery and metals sectors. Any slowdown in these industries could adversely affect the company's sales and profitability.

  1. The company depends on third-party suppliers for lead scrap and other raw materials. Supply disruptions or fluctuations in raw material prices could impact production costs and margins. The top 10 suppliers accounted for 38.48% of raw material purchases in FY26.

  1. Although incorporated in 1993, the company has been engaged in its current lead recycling and manufacturing business since 2021, resulting in a relatively short operating track record for investors to assess.

  1. While the company's debt-to-equity ratio has improved from 4.87x in FY24 to 1.25x in FY26, it continues to rely on borrowings to fund operations and expansion. Higher debt levels could increase interest costs and reduce financial flexibility during adverse market conditions.

  1. Lead prices are influenced by global commodity markets. Although the company follows a hedging strategy, significant price fluctuations may still affect profitability and working capital requirements.

  1. Manufacturing activities rely heavily on contract labour. Any shortage of skilled workers, rising labour costs, labour disputes or regulatory changes could disrupt operations and increase operating expenses.

  1. The business requires substantial working capital to procure raw materials and support exports. Delays in receivables or disruptions in cash flows could impact day-to-day operations.
