Short-form bill of lading (B/L)

A Bill of Lading (B/L) is a crucial document in the transportation of goods. It serves as a receipt of the goods being transported and also acts as a contract between the carrier and the shipper. A Short Form B/L is a simplified version of the full B/L and includes a reference to or an abbreviation of the carrier's full B/L or carriage conditions. This document is important in international trade as it provides important information about the goods being transported and the terms of their shipment.
