The new week began on a despondent note, with NIFTY extending its decline for the fifth consecutive session. Starting the session on a slightly weaker note, prices continued to drift lower gradually through the first half. However, a mid-day recovery, largely aided by a rebound in the BANKNIFTY, helped the index recoup most of its early losses. However, a spike during the CAS session once again altered the closing trajectory resulting in the index ending lower at 24287, with losses of 0.32%.
