Why Companies Issue Bonus Shares?
Capital Structure Optimisation
Issuing bonus shares helps companies capitalise on free reserves, increase paid-up capital, and boost earnings per share (EPS) over time. Bonus shares are provided free of cost, with no monetary investment required from the shareholder.
Eligibility Criteria for Investors
Only investors who purchase shares before the ex-date will qualify to receive bonus shares. Buying on or after the ex-date will disqualify shareholders from the bonus entitlement.
