Vodafone Idea (Vi) has started its 5G services in Delhi NCR from May 15. This is part of Vi’s broader plan to roll out 5G across India. The capital region joins Mumbai, Chandigarh, and Patna as cities where Vi 5G is now live. The company aims to launch 5G in all 17 priority circles where it owns 5G spectrum by August 2025.
Vi is offering unlimited 5G data to users with 5G-enabled smartphones on plans starting at ₹299. Customers can enjoy high-speed internet for video streaming, gaming, cloud access, and video calls.
Vi has partnered with Ericsson to build the 5G network in Delhi NCR. This infrastructure is designed to be energy efficient and lightweight. Vi has also implemented AI-powered Self-Organising Network (SON) technology to boost network performance. It uses Non-Standalone (NSA) architecture, allowing smooth switching between 4G and 5G.

This rollout is part of Vi’s larger investment plan of ₹55,000 crore over the next 3 years. After Delhi NCR, cities like Bengaluru and Mysuru are next. In Mumbai, already 70% of eligible users are using Vi’s 5G and 20% of total data traffic comes through 5G.
Vi aims to create a strong, future-ready 5G network to support India’s digital growth. The company wants to empower consumers and businesses with fast and reliable connectivity, supporting smart applications and industry-level solutions.
Vodafone Idea Limited is a joint venture between the Aditya Birla Group and Vodafone Group. It is one of India’s leading telecom providers offering voice and data services across 2G and 4G. Vi owns mid-band 5G spectrum in 17 circles and mmWave spectrum in 16 circles.
On May 14, Vodafone Idea share price closed at ₹6.99, up 0.72%. The stock opened at ₹6.96, hit a high of ₹7.06 and a low of ₹6.95 during the day. Its 52-week high is ₹19.18, while the 52-week low is ₹6.47.
