Vodafone Idea Limited has been fined by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for failing to control Unsolicited Commercial Communications (UCC) in 2023, with penalties totaling ₹53.2 lakh across four quarters.
On December 20, 2024, Vodafone Idea disclosed that the TRAI had issued orders imposing financial disincentives on the company for not curbing Unsolicited Commercial Communications via its network. The penalties, totalling ₹53.2 lakh, were imposed for the following quarters of 2023.
The company is reviewing the TRAI orders and evaluating its next steps, Vodafone Idea said in a press release on the stock exchanges.
Vodafone India’s share price traded up 1.49% at ₹7.51 at noon on the NSE, after opening flat at ₹7.40 against its previous close. The stock gained today, snapping its four-session losing streak from last week.
