VinFast Auto India has signed a service partnership with RoadGrid to support its charging and aftersales operations across the country. As per news reports, the company is preparing for its India entry with two electric SUV models, VF6 and VF7.

RoadGrid, which operates in the EV infrastructure and service space, will help VinFast roll out a nationwide charging and support network. The partnership will cover charging station deployment, extended service workshops, and technical maintenance.

Local Production

Both EV models will be manufactured at VinFast’s upcoming facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu. The company is investing $500 million in the plant, which is expected to be operational by mid-2025. Production capacity is projected at 1.5 lakh vehicles annually.

The VF6 and VF7 are expected to launch in India before the upcoming festive season. Ahead of the launch, the company is focusing on backend infrastructure and service delivery to ensure post-sales support is in place.

Export Potential

VinFast has also announced that the Tamil Nadu facility will serve as a base for exports. The company is eyeing markets in the Middle East and Africa once the India plant begins operations.

In addition to RoadGrid, VinFast is in discussions with other service providers to expand its after-sales footprint. The plan includes setting up workshops and support centres in multiple locations to improve customer accessibility and reduce service wait times.
