Vedanta Limited has announced its fourth interim dividend of ₹8.5 per equity share for the financial year 2024-25, amounting to ₹3,324 crores, reflecting its strong financial position.
The company’s Board of Directors approved the dividend on December 16, 2024, during a meeting held from 4:10 PM to 4:30 PM.
The dividend is calculated on a face value of ₹1 per share, with the total payout amounting to approximately ₹3,324 crore, the company said in a press release on the stock exchanges.
As per the earlier announcement, the record date for determining eligibility for the dividend is set for December 24, 2024. Shareholders registered by this date will receive the interim dividend.
According to the news reports, at the Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024, leading industrialists shared their investment plans for the state. Among them, Vedanta Group Chairman Anil Agarwal pledged an investment of ₹1 trillion to enhance zinc and oil production, which is expected to create 100,000 jobs.
Agarwal further noted that Hindustan Zinc, part of the Vedanta Group, has already invested ₹1 trillion in Rajasthan. The company contributes ₹50,000 crore in taxes annually, with ₹10,000 crore allocated to the state government.
On December 17, 2024, Vedanta’s share price (NSE: VEDL) traded 0.35% lower at ₹511.65 at 9:20 AM on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹513.45, unchanged against its previous closing.
