Top Losers of the Day: Adani Ports, Cipla, Bharti Airtel Lead Declines on December 6, 2024

The benchmark stock indices ended their 5-day winning streak and closed in the red after the Reserve Bank of India’s Monetary Policy Committee, led by Governor Shaktikanta Das, decided to keep the repo rate unchanged at 6.5%.

The 30-share Sensex fell by 56.74 points, or 0.07%, to close at 81,709.12, trading between 81,925.91 and 81,506.19 during the day. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty50 rose by 30.60 points, or 0.12%, to finish at 24,677.80. It reached a high of 24,751.05 and a low of 24,620.50 during the trading session.

• Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone

Adani Ports share price closed today at ₹1,257.80, marking a decline of 1.51%.

• Cipla 

Cipla share price closed today at ₹1,477.00, marking a decline of 1.42%. On November 29, Cipla’s promoters were considering selling up to 1.39 crore shares, or 1.72% of the company’s equity, through block deals. The shares were to be offered at ₹1,442 each, a 6% discount to the current market price, with the total transaction size estimated at ₹2,000 crore.

• Bharti Airtel

Bharti Airtel share price closed today at ₹1,597.75, marking a decline of 1.09%. Bharti Airtel reported the highest revenue growth, with a 10% increase quarter-on-quarter (19% year-on-year), while Vodafone Idea (VIL) and RJio showed lower growth.

• HDFC Life Insurance Company

HDFC Life Insurance Company share price closed today at ₹636.20, marking a decline of 1.08%.

• Indusind Bank

Indusind Bank share price closed today at ₹988.35, marking a decline of 0.99%.
