Tata Communications has announced a major partnership with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to develop an advanced AI-optimised long-distance network across India. This collaboration aims to accelerate AI adoption and cloud innovation by creating a high-bandwidth, low-latency infrastructure linking key AWS data centres.
Revealed on 22nd July 2025, the project will connect AWS infrastructure in Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Chennai via a new national long-haul fibre network, with a 7.2 Terabyte per second capacity and a total cable length of 18,000 km.
The ₹430 crore initiative, funded through internal accruals, is expected to be completed by the end of FY2025-26. Tata Communications will provide express routes with ultra-low latency, supporting seamless compute-intensive workloads for next-generation AI and ML applications.
Key benefits of the partnership include secure, high-speed connectivity for AI workloads, enablement of scalable AI-powered applications across healthcare, finance, and education, and robust security compliance. The collaboration will also support the development and deployment of GenAI applications across Indian enterprises, unlocking new efficiencies and innovation potential.

As of 22 July 2025, at 12:20 PM, Tata Communications share price is trading at ₹1,743 per share, reflecting a decline of 1.59%. Over the past month, the stock has gained by 6.04%.
