Shriram Finance Completed Sale of Entire Stake in Shriram Housing Finance to Warburg Pincus

On December 11, 20204, Shriram Finance Limited (Shriram Finance), the flagship company of the Shriram Group through an exchange filing announced the successful completion of the sale of its entire stake—84.44% on a fully diluted basis—in its housing finance subsidiary, Shriram Housing Finance Limited (SHFL), to Warburg Pincus, a leading global growth investment firm. The sale consideration amounts to INR 3,929 crores.
Transfer Completed to Warburg Pincus
The stake has been sold to Mango Crest Investment Ltd., an affiliate of Warburg Pincus. This marks a significant milestone for Shriram Finance, with all required regulatory and stakeholder approvals having been secured.
Shriram Housing Finance, a prominent player in the affordable housing finance sector, has played a key role in Shriram Finance’s growth, particularly in advancing financial inclusion by addressing the housing needs of underserved communities.
