Hindalco Share Price in Focus; Reported 78% YoY Rise in Net Profit in Q2 FY 2025 Financial Results

Hindalco Industries Limited, the metals flagship of the Aditya Birla Group, announced its consolidated financial results for the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2024.
Q2 FY 2025 Financial Highlights
The company reported a consolidated net profit of ₹3,909 crore for Q2 FY 2025, marking a 78% year-on-year increase. This growth was supported by robust operations within the Indian business, favourable market conditions, and effective cost management.
Aluminium Upstream EBITDA stood at ₹3,709 crore, a 79% rise, with EBITDA margins reaching a notable 41%, the highest in the industry. Additionally, Hindalco’s copper business achieved a record-breaking EBITDA of ₹829 crore, up 27%, representing the highest quarterly performance to date.
Overall, Hindalco’s consolidated EBITDA grew to ₹9,100 crore, up by 49% year-on-year, with a net debt-to-EBITDA ratio of 1.19x as of September 30, 2024, reflecting a solid financial position.
For the fifth consecutive year, Hindalco was recognized as the World’s Most Sustainable Aluminium Company in S&P Global’s 2024 Corporate Sustainability Assessment rankings, underscoring its commitment to sustainable practices and operational excellence.
Commenting on the financial performance, the Managing Director of Hindalco Industries, Mr Satish Pai, stated, “Our India business delivered a strong operational performance in Q2 bolstered by our relentless focus on operational reliability and cost management. Consequently, our Aluminium India Upstream business reported an EBITDA per tonne of $1,349, the highest in the last 10 quarters and the best in the industry globally. The Copper business achieved another record quarterly EBITDA. Novelis’ global footprint allowed the company to achieve record beverage packaging shipments, partially offsetting the impact from the flooding-related outage at Sierre.”
On November 12, 2024, Hindalco share price opened at ₹668.00, up from its previous close of ₹655.35. At 10:05 AM, the share price of Hindalco was trading at ₹660.00, up by 0.71%.
