Easy Trip Planners Sets Record Date for 1:1 Bonus Shares on November 28, 2024

Easy Trip Planners Ltd. has announced that Thursday, November 28, 2024, will be the record date for determining which shareholders are eligible for the company’s 1:1 bonus share issue. The announcement comes after shareholders approved the issuance of bonus shares.
Details of the Bonus Share Issue
The company had previously communicated about the board’s recommendation and shareholders’ approval for the 1:1 bonus issue in letters dated October 14, 2024, and November 15, 2024. This means that every share held by a shareholder on the record date will receive one additional share free of charge.
This will be the third time Easy Trip Planners has issued bonus shares. In November 2022, the company issued bonus shares in a 3:1 ratio, and in March 2022, it issued bonus shares in a 1:1 ratio.
Why Companies Issue Bonus Shares
Bonus shares are issued by companies to increase their paid-up capital and reduce reserves. These shares are given to shareholders at no cost, often using the company’s free reserves. They also help increase the company’s Earnings Per Share (EPS).
Eligibility and Ex-Date
To receive bonus shares, investors need to buy the stock before the ex-date. If shares are purchased on or after the ex-date, the investor will not be eligible for the bonus shares.
