Cipla Share Price Dips 3.83%; Reports 17% YoY PAT Growth in Q2 FY25 Financial Results

Cipla Ltd has released its unaudited consolidated financial results for the quarter ended September 30, 2024.
Q2 FY 2025 Financial Performance
The company reported an income from operations of ₹7,051 crore, reflecting a 9% year-on-year (YoY) growth. The Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) stood at ₹1,886 crore, constituting 26.7% of total revenue, marking a 12% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, the Profit After Tax (PAT) for the quarter was ₹1,303 crore, representing 18.5% of revenue and a notable 17% YoY growth.
Business Performance
In terms of business performance, Cipla’s One India segment reported a 5% YoY growth, with the Branded Prescription business continuing to outpace the market in key chronic therapy areas. However, the company experienced historically slow seasonal growth in the Acute category, impacting both the Branded Prescription and Trade Generics business. In North America, Cipla delivered quarterly revenue of $237 million, up 4% YoY, supported by a strong performance in its differentiated portfolio.
Cipla’s efforts in the African market, now unified under the “One Africa” strategy, showed promising results with overall revenue growth of 22%. The Emerging Markets and Europe segment also demonstrated robust performance, posting an 18% revenue growth in USD terms.
Cipla’s commitment to research and development is evident, with investments reaching ₹385 crore, or 5.5% of sales, reflecting a 2% increase YoY driven by ongoing product filings and developmental efforts. The company’s strong financial health is further underscored by a net cash position of ₹7,950 crore, indicating a solid foundation to support future growth initiatives.
