Reliance Power Limited has issued an official statement to clarify that the recent classification of Reliance Communications Limited’s loan account as fraud by the State Bank of India (SBI) has no connection or impact on Reliance Power’s business operations or financial standing.
The company emphasised that it is an entirely independent and separately listed entity, with no business or financial linkage to Reliance Communications.
The company further stated that the development does not affect its shareholders, employees, or any other stakeholders. It stressed that its financial performance and daily operations remain unaffected by the SBI action concerning Reliance Communications.
Reliance Power also addressed any perceived association with Mr. Anil D. Ambani, clarifying that he is not part of the company’s Board of Directors. As such, any enforcement or legal actions taken against Reliance Communications do not bear any implications for Reliance Power’s governance or leadership structure.
The management reaffirmed its focus on executing its strategic business plans and delivering sustained value to all stakeholders. The company reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency, operational integrity, and financial discipline.

Reliance Power was established with the objective of developing, constructing, and operating power projects in India and abroad. The company, along with its subsidiaries, holds a substantial portfolio of power generation assets, comprising both operational projects and those under development.
On July 3, 2025, Reliance Power share price (NSE: RPOWER) opened at ₹66.40 and closed at ₹65.50, down by 3.75%. The stock price touched its day’s low at ₹64.70.
Reliance Power’s clarification comes at a time when market speculation and investor concerns could have led to confusion. The company’s proactive stance aims to assure all stakeholders that its business remains unaffected and on track for future growth.
