Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) is a public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, Government of India. Established in 2003, RVNL was created to implement and expedite rail infrastructure projects, focusing on modernisation, capacity expansion, and efficiency improvements within the Indian railway network.

MoU with Dubai-based GBHIC

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a public sector undertaking, has gained market attention after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dubai-based GBH International Contracting LLC. The agreement aims to explore and collaborate on infrastructure development projects within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region.

The MoU signifies a step forward in RVNL’s strategy to expand its international footprint. The collaboration focuses on infrastructure-related projects, particularly in sectors such as railways, roads, bridges, and other civil engineering ventures across GCC countries, which include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, and Kuwait.

Saudi Vision 2030

RVNL is to tap into the robust infrastructure demand in the GCC region, driven by economic diversification initiatives and major events such as Expo 2025 and Saudi Vision 2030. The partnership is also expected to boost RVNL’s global credentials and revenue streams.

RVNL Q2 FY25 Results

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL) posted a 27% year-on-year decline in consolidated net profit for Q2 FY25, at ₹286.9 crore, down from ₹394.4 crore in the previous year. Revenue from operations dipped 1.2% to ₹4,854.95 crore, while EBITDA fell 9% to ₹271.5 crore, with the margin narrowing by 50 basis points to 5.6%. 

The results missed analysts’ forecasts, which estimated a net profit of ₹356 crore and revenue of ₹5,160 crore. RVNL also reported a net loss of ₹15.2 crore from joint ventures and associates, compared to a gain of ₹24.2 crore a year earlier.
