Indian stock markets will remain open for trading on Friday, June 6, 2025, despite the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha (Bakrid) across various parts of the country. Both the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) will operate as per their regular trading schedule.

In the lead-up to the date, there had been some confusion among traders and investors regarding the potential closure of markets in observance of the festival. However, the official trading holiday calendar released by both exchanges confirms that there is no holiday scheduled for June 6.

Stock Market Holiday Calendar Confirms No June or July Holidays

According to the BSE and NSE official websites, there are no trading holidays listed for either June or July. So far in 2025, the exchanges have observed holidays on major national and regional events such as Holi (March 14), Id-ul-Fitr (March 31), Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti (April 10), and Maharashtra Day (May 1).

In total, 14 market holidays have been scheduled for the year. The most recent market closure was on May 1 for Maharashtra Day.

While stock markets will remain unaffected by the holiday, several banks across India are expected to remain closed on June 7, depending on the state-wise RBI holiday list.

Conclusion

Despite the widespread observance of Eid-ul-Adha, Indian stock markets will remain operational on Friday, June 6. Investors and traders can carry out regular transactions without interruption, as the NSE and BSE will follow normal trading hours. The next stock market holiday is expected in August, as per the annual schedule.
