The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has announced a significant update to India's FASTag system that aims to boost convenience for private vehicle owners. With the introduction of a FASTag Annual Pass, users can enjoy a flat rate for extensive highway travel effective from August 15, 2025.
The FASTag Annual Pass is a digital payment initiative led by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways to streamline toll payments across India’s highways. Priced at ₹3,000, this new scheme is aimed at private non-commercial vehicle owners, including cars, vans, and jeeps. The pass is valid for up to 200 highway trips or one year from the activation date, whichever comes first.
The scheme will officially be rolled out on August 15, 2025. This move is part of the Union Government's ongoing efforts to reduce congestion at toll plazas, support digital payments, and make Indian highways more commuter-friendly. Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari made the announcement via X (formerly Twitter), confirming the benefits and price point.
