Goa Carbon’s share price increased by 6% after the company confirmed that operations at its Bilaspur unit have resumed. The kiln was successfully lit up, and production has now returned to normal levels.

Details of Operations Resumption at Bilaspur Unit

Goa Carbon announced the resumption of operations at its Bilaspur Unit, located in Chhattisgarh. The company confirmed that the kiln has been lit up and production has returned to normal as of January 1, 2025, the company said in a press release on the stock exchanges.

The resumption follows a previous communication made on December 17, 2024, and signifies the return of full operational capacity at the unit.

Earlier, on 17 December 2024, the company had informed regarding the at Bilaspur Unit being temporarily shut down for maintenance work.

In a recent development last week, Goa Carbon announced the temporary closure of its Goa unit for maintenance work. The unit, situated at St. Jose de Areal, Salcete-Goa, has been shut down for maintenance starting from 25 December 2024.

Q2 FY25 Financial Highlights

The company reported a net loss of ₹10.12 crore in Q2 FY25 as against the net profit of ₹28.96 crore posted in Q2 FY24. Revenue from operations declined 45.82% year on year to ₹122.51 crore in Q2 FY25.

Share Price Performance

On January 02, 2025, Goa Carbon’s share price traded at 6.17% higher at ₹739.10 at 1:47 PM on the NSE. The stock opened at ₹713.95 higher than ₹696.15 at its previous close. The stock gained close to 4% in the last two trading sessions.
