U.S. stocks saw considerable weakness throughout much of the trading day on Thursday before staging a substantial recovery late in the session. The major averages skyrocketed off their worst levels of the day and into positive territory. The Dow showed a substantial rebound before closing up by 1.1 percent at 23138 and Nasdaq also rose 0.4 percent to 6579.
U.K. market opened on a firm note Thursday on positive cues from Wall Street where stocks soared higher yesterday on some upbeat economic news but pared its gains swiftly with U.S. futures indicating a weak start for Wall Street later in the day. The benchmark FTSE 100 was down by 0.7% to 6642 during the last trading session.
