Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global indices and SGX Nifty.

U.S. stocks turned in a relatively lacklustre performance during trading on Friday. Despite the choppy trading on the day the Dow climbed to another new record closing high. The major averages eventually ended the session mixed. The Dow rose 0.3percent to 26743 and the Nasdaq fell 0.5 percent to 7987.

UK stocks rose sharply in the last trading session as trade concerns ebbed and the pound retreated after a warning from European Union leaders that Prime Minister Theresa Mays plan to withdraw from the European Union “will not work.” May will next meet with EU officials on October 18.The FTSE 100 was up 0.9 percent at 7433.
