Indian markets are likely to open negative tracking global cues and SGX Nifty.
U.S. stocks extended losses on Wednesday with the SP 500 recording its longest
losing streak in five years after the Federal Reserve as expected kept interest rates
unchanged. In announcing its decision the Fed indicated that it doesnt need for
much more evidence to justify a move boosting the chances of a hike at its final
meeting of the year. The SP 500 index dropped 14 points to close at 2098 falling
for seven sessions in a row for the first time since November 2011. The Dow Jones
Industrial Average declined 77 points to finish at 17960.
European stocks ended sharply lower on Wednesday as the possibility of a victory
by Donald Trump in next weeks U.S. presidential election and lower oil prices
spooked global equity markets. The U.K.s FTSE 100 index declined 1% to 6845.
