History of Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited

Colgate-Palmolive (India) Limited, a subsidiary of Colgate-Palmolive, USA, started its operations in India in 1937. The company is one of the leading providers of oral care products in India. They provide various oral care and personal care products under their brands, Colgate and Palmolive. All these products are scientifically proven.  In India, the company launched its first product, Colgate Dental Cream, in 1937. Since then, they have been introducing several oral and personal care products like Halo Shampoo, Palmolive Shave Foam, Palmolive Extra Care Soap, Colgate Extra Clean Gum Care toothbrush, Colgate MaxFresh Cool Clove mouthwash, etc. In 1978, the company released its IPO.  The company has manufacturing facilities in India in Andhra Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Goa and Gujarat. These plants are about 3,64,600 square meters in size, and 2.7 MW of green energy is installed. The company has partnered with about 2,200 suppliers for raw materials, logistic support, packaging materials, marketing, and many other offerings. As of March 2023, the company has reached 1.7 million homes. The company also works towards creating oral hygiene awareness through its Colgate Bright Smiles, Bright Futures programme. In India, as of March 2023, the company reached out to more than 171 million children aged 6-12 years.
